The ATN NVM14 is a hand-held, head-mounted, helmet-mounted or weapon-mounted Night Vision system that enables walking, driving, weapon firing, short-range surveillance, map reading, vehicle maintenance and administering first aid in both moonlight and starlight. Each unit allows for vertical adjustment (by using head straps), fore-and-aaft adjustment, objective lens focus and eyepiece focus. The Night Vision Device is also equipped with an Infrared light-emitting source. The ATN NVM14 Night Vision Device utilizes the principle of intensification of the residual light which is reflected from the surrounding objects. The optical system of the Monocular consists of an objective lens, an Image Intensifier Tube and an eyepiece. Even under unsteady brightness conditions, Automatic Brightness Adjustment System always keeps the IIT brightness level constant. The Automatic Protective System controls the existing illumination level through the photo receiver. If the illumination level surpasses 100-300 lx for the following 10 seconds, the monocular will shut off automatically. The eyepiece incorporates several LED indicators: Red, serves as an IR Illuminator Indicator and a Battery low Indicator at a time. Green, serves as an Excessive Brightness Indicator. If the bright light remains unchanged for over 10 seconds after the indicator turns on, the Monocular will automatically shut-off. 4th generation Gated/Filmless technology represents the biggest technological breakthrough in image intensification of the past 10 years. By removing the ion barrier film and "Gating" the system Gen. 4 demonstrates substantial increases in target detection range and resolution, particularly at extremely low light levels.: The use of film less technology and auto-gated power supply in 4th generation image intensifiers result in: Upto 100% improvement in photo response. Superb performance in extremely low light level (better S/N and EBI). At least triple high light level resolution (a minimum of 36 lp/mm compared to 12 lp/mm). ATN's Autogated/Filmless inverting image intensifier tubes improve night operational effectiveness for users of night vision goggles and other night vision devices. The filmless micro channel plate provides a higher signal-to-noise ratio than standard 3rd Gen. IITs, resulting in better image quality under low-light conditions. An Autogated power supply further improves image resolution under high light conditions and a reduced halo effect that minimizes interference from bright light sources. The reduced Halo maximizes the effectiveness of the Night Vision device in dynamic lighting conditions such as those experienced, for example, in night operations in urban areas.: Photo Cathode type: Filmless GaSa.
